Job Tracking for CNC Machine Shops
Print a QR code for every work order. Scan it on any phone to see where each job is, split part-runs as they come off the machine, and invoice without chasing a single traveller.
Paper travellers can’t keep up with a busy shop
A part touches several machines and operators before it ships. The job card rarely tells the office where it actually is.
Where is work order 0042?
Job cards end up in a pile on the machine, in someone's overall pocket, or face down on the office desk. Nobody can say where a job is without walking the floor to find it.
Which machine, which operator?
A part goes through roughing, a second op, deburr, then inspection. That's several machines and several hands, and the paper traveller rarely keeps up.
Half the batch is ready now
Forty of a hundred are off the machine and the customer wants them today. Track that part-delivery on a spreadsheet and you get double entry, and a real chance the forty never get invoiced.
Built the way a machine shop runs
Groups for your machines, custom fields for material and machine number, splitting for part-runs. It maps onto how your floor already works instead of asking you to change it.
A QR code on every work order
Print a code straight onto the job card or traveller. Any operator scans it on their own phone. No handheld scanners, no terminal bolted to each machine.
Groups per machine or cell
Set up CNC Mill, Lathe, Deburr and Inspection as groups. A job is offered to the cell, and whoever is on that machine picks it up. One operator off sick never stalls the work.
Custom fields for material & machine
Add the fields a machine shop actually uses: material grade, machine number, drawing revision, programme name. They ride on every job card.
Split partial runs automatically
Complete forty of a hundred-off run and ScanPath splits the finished forty into its own invoiceable job. The other sixty carry on down the floor.
Invoice from a live queue
Every finished part and every split lands in the invoicing queue on its own. Nobody walks travellers to the office, and nothing goes out unbilled.
A full history per job
Every scan records who had the part, on which step, and for how long. You can answer "where is it?" in seconds, and price the next quote from numbers instead of memory.
One work order, end to end
- The office creates WO-0042, a hundred off in 304 stainless, picks the route CNC Mill → Deburr → Inspection → Office, and prints the QR onto the traveller.
- The mill operator scans and taps Receive, and now the whole shop can see the job is on the mill.
- Roughing and the second op done, they hand it to Deburr, and the next operator picks it up from their queue.
- Inspection passes forty, so they complete forty. ScanPath splits off WO-0042-1 for invoicing and the other sixty keep moving.
- The office sees both in the invoicing queue and bills the forty the same day the customer needs them.
