For welding & fabrication shops

Job Tracking for Welding & Fabrication Shops

Print a QR code on every job bag. Scan it on any phone to follow each frame through cutting, welding, grinding and paint, split partial deliveries, and make sure every extra gets invoiced.

A job bag can't keep up with a busy fab shop

Steel moves through several processes and several hands before it ships, and the paper rarely tells the office where it actually is.

Which bay is the frame in?

A steel frame moves through cutting, bending, welding, grinding and paint before it ships. It is big, it is heavy, and finding it means walking the whole yard and asking three people.

The paperwork walks off with the job

The job bag and the drawing get grinding dust all over them, end up under a welding blanket, or leave with the part. When the office needs a status, the paper is nowhere near a desk.

The extras never make the invoice

A few extra brackets and a section added on the floor to make it fit. Real work, real steel, and if it is not written down the moment it happens it goes out the gate unbilled.

Built the way a fab shop runs

Groups for your bays, fields for grade and coating, splitting for partial deliveries. It maps onto how your yard already works.

A QR code on the job bag

Print a code onto the job bag or drawing. A welder scans it on their own phone, even with gloves off for a second. No handheld scanners to lose in the workshop.

Groups per bay or process

Set up Cutting, Bending, Welding, Grinding, Paint and Dispatch. A job is offered to the bay, and whoever is working it picks it up. Work never stalls because one person is off.

Fields for material and spec

Add the fields a fab shop lives on: material grade, section size, drawing revision, coating spec, weight. They ride on every job so nobody guesses.

Split partial deliveries

Ship three of ten frames the customer needs now and ScanPath splits those three into their own invoiceable job. The other seven carry on through the shop.

Invoice from a live queue

Every finished frame and every split lands in the invoicing queue on its own. Nothing leaves the yard without the office seeing it first.

A full history per job

Every scan records who had the job, on which process, and for how long. You can answer "where is it?" in seconds and quote the next frame from real hours.

One frame order, end to end

  • The office creates FRM-118, ten steel frames in 3CR12, picks the route Cutting → Bending → Welding → Grinding → Paint → Dispatch, and prints the QR onto the job bag.
  • The cutter scans and taps Receive, and now the whole yard can see the job is on the saw.
  • Bending and welding done, the welder adds two brackets that were not on the drawing and notes them on the job, so they are not forgotten at invoicing.
  • Three frames are needed on site today, so they complete three. ScanPath splits off FRM-118-1 for invoicing and the other seven keep moving to paint.
  • The office bills the three plus the extra brackets the same day, and nothing leaves the yard unrecorded.
